Michelle Stacy dedicated 27 years to education, teaching at every level from elementary to university. She served as a guidance counselor and a faculty member at Morehead State University. Her final role as a reading specialist with the Montgomery County Board of Education marked her homecoming to the community she loved.

But at age 50, Michelle's life shifted dramatically. Following a divorce, she needed to supplement her teacher’s salary but wasn’t sure how. At the same time, her commitment to skincare led her to abandon traditional tanning, inspired by alarming statistics like a 47% increased melanoma risk for those who use tanning beds before age 20.

On a visit to her daughter in Florida, Michelle discovered custom airbrush tanning and was amazed by the results. The experience sparked an idea: to bring this safer, skin-friendly glow to others who missed the effects of traditional tanning but not the risks.

To turn her idea into reality, Michelle sought out a mentor, Fabiola, a renowned airbrush tanning professional in Miami. Over a summer of training, Michelle learned the art of airbrush tanning before returning to Kentucky to perfect her skills on friends. Soon, she launched Glo^ Sunless Tanning—a business dedicated to providing radiant, sunless tans while prioritizing skin health.

Building her business was not without challenges. Michelle had to master social media, networking, and advertising to ensure Glo^’s visibility. Her efforts paid off, as Glo^ quickly expanded beyond Montgomery County into Morehead and Pikeville.

When asked about her success, Michelle credits her unwavering commitment to quality:

  • Good products: She sources only the finest tanning solutions.

  • The best equipment: Glo^ uses top-of-the-line technology.

  • Expert training: Every technician is personally trained to deliver the exceptional experience Glo^ is known for.

For Michelle, her customers are the heart of her business. Their experience and satisfaction guide every decision she makes.

Looking ahead, Michelle sees a bright future for Glo^ Sunless Tanning, with her passion and dedication paving the way for continued growth. She proves that reinvention at any stage of life is possible when you combine hard work, quality, and a genuine love for what you do.

The critical ingredient is getting off your butt and doing something. It’s as simple as that. A lot of people have ideas, but there are few who decide to do something about them now. Not tomorrow. Not next week. But today. The true entrepreneur is a doer, not a dreamer
