In the heart of Mount Sterling, Roadrunners Automotive has quickly become a trusted name for diesel and mechanical work. Opened on June 1, 2024, this garage is the brainchild of Gregory Townsend and Zachary Gibson, two seasoned mechanics with over 20 years of experience each. Their journey to entrepreneurship is a testament to faith, friendship, and hard work.

From a Joke to a Dream Realized

Gregory and Zachary’s partnership began four years ago when they met and bonded over a shared love of cars. They even built a car together, which sparked a running joke about opening their own garage. By 2023, the joke had turned into a serious discussion, and Gregory started scouting for the perfect location.

Gregory’s search was relentless. Every time he drove through Mount Sterling, he kept an eye out for garages for rent. In May 2024, while recovering from surgery, he spotted a corner property on Owingsville Road that felt like destiny. The space was perfect, and to Gregory’s surprise, it was within their budget. Trusting his instincts and faith, Gregory committed to renting the garage—even before the funds were secured.

In a remarkable turn of events, Gregory received a payout just days later, confirming his belief that the right opportunity had come at the right time. With God’s provision and their determination, Roadrunners Automotive was born.

Challenges and Triumphs

Launching a new business has not been without its hurdles. While Gregory and Zachary excel in their mechanical expertise, navigating the world of social media and online marketing has been a learning curve. Instead of relying heavily on digital platforms, they’ve leaned on word-of-mouth referrals and the unwavering support of their friends from the car show community.

Despite these challenges, Roadrunners Automotive has begun to build a loyal customer base. Gregory and Zachary’s reputation for quality work and genuine care for their clients has been key to their early success.

More Than a Business

For Gregory, Roadrunners Automotive is more than just a garage—it’s a dream come true.

His story is one of resilience and faith, showcasing the power of taking risks and believing in a higher plan. Zachary’s expertise and partnership have been integral to the garage’s growth, and together, they’re creating something special for the Mount Sterling community.

As Roadrunners Automotive continues to grow, Gregory and Zachary are committed to providing top-notch service while learning the ropes of modern business marketing. Their story serves as an inspiration to anyone chasing a dream, proving that with determination and faith, anything is possible.

The critical ingredient is getting off your butt and doing something. It’s as simple as that. A lot of people have ideas, but there are few who decide to do something about them now. Not tomorrow. Not next week. But today. The true entrepreneur is a doer, not a dreamer
